With the heat rising as we near the start of school, it’s fun to kick back with a refreshing summer drink and relax. However, after three solid months of fun in the sun, the classics can start to taste a bit stale. One of my favorite recipes that puts a new twist on an age-old favorite is Watermelon Lemonade. Not only is it delicious, but it’s a DIY project that won’t take up too much of your precious time by the pool!
Ingredients for Watermelon Lemonade: (makes 4 servings)
- 1 1/2 lbs sliced watermelon, (preferably seedless), rind removed
- zest of 1 lemon
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced, for garnish
