Despite their rich diet, those French women somehow manage to stay so slim! How on earth do they devour multi-course meals suffused with butter, wine, cream sauce, and sugar and never gain a pound? Well, we here at RTR On Campus want to show you how you can do it too.
Breakfast: Eat it. People maintain their weight when they eat their breakfast regularly. Those slim French dames never skip a meal. Simple toast, butter, and coffee with skim milk is an easy French standard that will boost your metabolism and fat-burners all day long.
Snacking: Don’t do it! Virtually unheard of in France, snacking is the bane of the obese American population. Back away from the Wheat Thins and wait for a full, healthy, well-balanced lunch…
Lunch and Dinner: Enjoy a full meal, consisting of several courses that include bread, sauces, dessert, and perhaps even a spot of wine. Savor small portions – the French eat petite plates of high quality. (Tips: Use smaller plates and don’t go for seconds!)
Don’t Skimp on the Veggies: French cuisine is packed with fruits and vegetables. Take the extra time to scope out the farmers market and buy garden-fresh delights to spice up your salad.
Enjoy the Wine: And we mean it. The traditional glass of wine in France contains resveratrol, an antioxidant compound in grape skins that aids in weight loss and overall good health. Drink responsibly, my pretties!
Bon appétit!

Maeve was born in Howard County, Maryland, a farm-filled hometown tucked far enough away from DC and Baltimore to remain virtually unheard of. From ages five to seventeen, she donned a dweeby uniform five days a week and hadn’t the slightest idea who she was stylistically. At last, college arrived, and Rent the Runway guided the way through the previously unforeseen world of fashion.
