The 2nd Annual Columbia Fashion Show: An Eye For Fashion
by RTR On Campus on Oct 12, 2011 • 9:53 am No CommentsLast Thursday night, the Delta Gamma sorority and Rent the Runway team at Columbia University hosted their second annual charity fashion show at Havana Central restaurant. The event showcased a variety of Rent the Runway dresses, highlighting their dresses for the holidays, all the while raising money for Delta Gamma’s philanthropy, Service for Sight.

Before the actual show, the models for the night were invited to an exclusive pre-party at 6 pm to get their make-up done by Lancome’s talented and experienced beauty team.

The models excitedly got in line to be beautified for the evening as they munched on cupcakes and sipped on mocktails.
At the pre-party, girls were also invited to try on any of the dresses that were displayed in the trunk show and get their photo taken in front of the special Rent the Runway step and repeat.
Once it was showtime, models lined up in their assigned categories (Recruitment, Formal, Date Night, Birthday, Holidays, and Halloween), and prepped themselves for their walk down the DG anchor-embossed runway. The girls modeling the Formal dresses were also given escorts to really portray how glamorous girls can look on their formal nights with their dates.

At the end of the evening, raffle prizes were announced, which included: a $100 Rent the Runway gift card, $350 worth of Lancome beauty products, and gift certificates to various local businesses around the Columbia campus. The evening was a great way for girls to see all the RTR options they have for their extracurricular and personal events, while raising money for a good cause!
