This year, on October 19th, the girls of Howard University hosted a fashion show at the Cramton Auditorium, featuring 10 different designers from across the country. Many of those designs, like those of Thakoon, were obtained from Rent the Runway’s wardrobe. Models and students from Howard University and the surrounding area strutted their stuff in front of the huge audience, with guest appearances by artist Ginuwine and Washington D.C.’s major radio personality Angie Ann.

From the beginning students were delighted by the setting of the stage from lounge seating on the stage, which set a classy ambiance to the over-the-top lighting, to the extended runway. The large LED screen that was displayed also helped set the mood for each designer’s scene. Both fashion shows went over well and students left feeling enthusiastic and excited. This was the first big appearance of Rent the Runway on campus, giving Howard students a glimpse of what they should be expecting from Rent the Runway this school year.
