For most of us, returning to school means returning to a busy schedule. That leaves little time for eating healthy. It is easier to grab something that is fast while on the go, than planning a meal a head of time. A great way to help prevent all your meals from being on the go is to eat healthy snacks. That way you can remain full between meals and are less like to grab junk food. Eating healthy snacks does not mean it can’t be fast too. Here are my top three go to snacks when I am on the go.
Fruit and Cheese- cheese sticks are not just for little kids, they are great at any age. Throw a cheese stick and a piece of fruit in your bag before you leave in the morning. My personal favorite is an apple and cheese stick.
Peanut Butter Toast- This snacks takes more prep time but it is well worth it in the middle of the day. Take a piece of toast with peanut butter and fold it in half in a bag. That way it is mess free later. A great extra is adding honey inside too.
Almonds and a Latte- Stop at a local coffee shop and get a skim latte. Paring it with almonds from home will provide that extra boost you need to get through the rest of your day.
