I think we all remember the craziness that occurred last fall when the Missoni Collection for Target hit the shelves. However this time around the Target Corporation was much more prepared.  Target knew the Jason Wu collection would be just as big if not bigger than the Missoni launch and after Missoni, Target was just about ready to handle anything. The Jason Wu line was released a little after midnight on Sunday, February 5th as opposed to a Tuesday morning.Releasing late Sunday night allowed for more breathing room for online purchases. Also after last Fall’s debacle and the tar-jay website crash the people at Target tried to better forecast the demand for the Jason Wu line.

The Jason Wu collection only had 50 pieces as opposed to the Missoni collection which had over 400 pieces and included items such as clothing, scarves, stationary, and even a bike. The collection was only sold in 1,200 stores compared to the 1, 700+ stores for Missoni. Even with less pieces and the line being sold in fewer stores Jason Wu for Target still managed to sellout within hours. So if you weren’t quite able to get your hands on a piece of this fabulous “American Girls in Paris” inspired collection theres always ebay.

Later fashionistas, this chick has got two tests to study for,
