The greatest accessory for any outfit is perfect hair. We’ve all been there, minutes before a date or sorority formal, with hair that just refuses to cooperate. When I was visiting Atlanta recently I stumbled upon a little place they call the Dry Bar.  If you haven’t ever heard of it, LET ME GET YOUR ATTENTION, because it. is. ahh-mazing. The Irvine, California company embraces the slogan, “No cuts. No color. Just blowouts. Only $35.” Yep, you read that right…a $35 dollar blowout. But it doesn’t stop there. The DryBar salons are eye-catching with their yellow and whitest-white décor. Walking in the door you are greeted with the sounds of salon chatter, hip music, and blow-dryers. Lots of blow-dryers. The front desk staff take your appointment information and ask if you’d like a drink—a free drink—champagne, wine, water, Coca Cola (it was Atlanta after all)? Already I was feeling posh, and for an affordable price!

The stylists proceed to wash your hair, show you the “menu” of blowout options, and start blow-drying as you sit in around a u-shaped bar reading your favorite magazines or watching a classic movie like “Sweet Home Alabama” (you can’t hear the movie because of all the noise, so they choose one you’ve probably seen—and know all the words to anyway). They finish the blowout with the styling of your choice, which range from silky straight to uber curly; they offer updos as well, but for an additional charge. They even have iPhone chargers built right into the counter in front of you incase yours needs a pick-me-up.

I left DryBar feeling refreshed and beautiful. My hair was touchable and bouncy, and the style stayed put for two full days! The best part about it was that I was in and out in less than an hour—my sister with shorter, thinner hair only took about 30 minutes! Check out their website, and find one in a city near you. You won’t regret it!
