Most wouldn’t admit that they know all about Snooki and her Seaside pals. I, on the other hand, am a self-proclaimed reality show junkie. I’m providing you with my top reality-shows worth indulging in that you won’t have to be ashamed of.
1. The Bachelorette –ABC – May 2012
Yes, ABC’s The Bachelorette and its counterpart The Bachelor have a combined relationship success rate as bad as Snooki’s. But this season has one big reason you should all take a peek: to watch Emily Maynard, the girl who won America’s heart on Brad Womack’s season. Emily is not only stunning, but she is also a single mom who is genuinely out to find love. ABC fell in love with her story so much they moved production from LA to North Carolina to accommodate Emily and her daughter. And for those romance skeptics, there also the fact that you get to watch 25 good-looking, testosterone- driven men compete for Emily’s attention.
2. Around the World in 80 Plates – Bravo – May 9th
Want some competition with a little more skill required? Bravo’s Around the World in 80 Plates may be the one for you. Think The Amazing Race meets Top Chef. Follow 12 chefs for 40 days as they travel and prepare amazing meals in 10 different countries. The chefs battle in teams to adapt to the different exotic cuisines. As Top Chef fans know, you’ll also get to see some the most notable names in the food industry like Wolgang Puck , and Iron Chef Cat Cora. For us non-foodies out there, host Curtis Stone’s adorable Australian accent will definitely get you hooked.
3. Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids – TLC – April 13th
TLC has brought the world some of the biggest reality show train wrecks such as Kat von D from LA Ink and Kate Gosselin. However, I can never stay made at TLC for too long because every Friday they bring me ‘Wedding Night.’ TLC’s Wedding Night is the perfect way to spend night in with girlfriends. Say to the Dress: Bridesmaids is one show absolutely worth spending a Friday night in for. You watch brides as they pick gowns for their bridal party. As you can imagine, drama always ensues. However, with almost (emphasis on almost) every episode the strength of their friendships prevails and the future bride and her bridesmaids walk away happy.
