If you’re like me and love nail art but can’t do anything fancy, then have no fear, Julie is here! Here are just a few examples of super easy nail art inspired by some of the latest runway trends:
1. Mint and Metallic
So I’m kind of obsessed with this Louis Vuitton spring 2012 shoe. Mint is so popular right now, and looks great with a spring wardrobe. A very easy way to pull off this trend is to do all nails mint with one metallic, or vise versa. I suggest Essie’s Mint Candy Apple and Steel-ing the Scene.
2. Color Blocking
It’s no mystery that color blocking has been a major trend for the past season or so. But now with spring upon us, there has never been a better time to wear bright colors! This is my personal favorite look from 3.1 Phillip Lim’s spring 2012 runway collection. What’s more feminine than gorgeous pastels? To pull off this runway-inspired look, put a piece of tape on the corner of a nail, and paint the nail one color. Then peel the tape off once the polish has dried, and paint the corner another color! I suggest using Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and Mellow Yellow.
3. Pockets
What girl doesn’t love a pocket? Some are functional, some are decorative, and some are both! This nail art is inspired by Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2012 collection, which featured a lot of menswear shirts and jackets, adorned with pockets. To pull off this look on nails, use a nude color as a base, such as Nicole by OPI in Kim Konfidential. Then use a nail art pen, such as Claire’s Two Way Nail Art Pen and Brush in black, to draw on a pocket. This one requires a steadier hand.
