After a couple months at college they were coming back, my roots! So now I’m 500 miles away from home, where most importantly my hairdresser is located. I still have a month left till break and I’m in big need for a day at the salon! Sitting in my dorm room panicked about my roots and wondered how I’m ever going to keep up with my hair for the next year, so I started to Google hairstyles. Again and again this style with huge roots comes up but, unlike my own roots, I realize they sort of look intentional. I click on a picture of Drew Barrymore and read the caption, “Ombre hair”.

My next Google search was Ombre hairstyles. Almost every celebrity you could think of comes up in the search, from Sarah Jessica Parker to Lauren Conrad and Cameron Diaz. Looking at all the trendy ways these celebrities have their hair highlighted I start to admire the creativity in the two- toned hair style.  It’s a fade of color from darker at the top near the roots to a lighter color at the bottom, starting anywhere from the ears down. It works great with blonde and brown hair and would be a fun new way for me to style my own hair. One of the greatest reasons for me to try out this glamorous new hairstyle is that if the top matches my roots I wouldn’t have to rush to the salon to have my hair colored as often. It’s works perfect for a college girl, keeps you looking glamorous and fashionable.
