To spread the word of Rent The Runway and increase sign-ups and rentals, the University of Florida RTR team went to four sorority houses to hold trunk shows. Each show was held on a separate night of the week after the sorority’s dinner time so girls who stopped by could see what some of the dresses Rent The Runway has to offer. When a girl would sign up for RTR we would give her a choice of hot pink nailpolish or RTR sunglasses as an incentive. There was also a competition between sororities, which all girls strived to win. The house with the most girls who signed up and rented received a donation to UF Dance Marathon! With formal right around the corner for all the houses, signing up for RTR and seeing the dresses gave girls a better option to find the perfect dress.

Every girl who saw us couldn’t help but stare at the gorgeous dresses and be curious about the company. Our reps loved telling the girls all about the exciting advantages of Rent the Runway. We were even able to get a story published in the Odyssey, a local newspaper (see page 15 of http://theodysseyonline.com/content/issues/Florida/03.15.12/). Because of this trunk show, our team generated almost 500 new members! We are so proud of this event and are looking forward to our upcoming fashion show in Gainesville Fashion Week.
