Rent the Runway stole the show at Gainesville Fashion Week’s Gala for the Arts on Friday, April 13th. The University of Florida RTR team worked relentlessly to make sure the show went flawlessly. Each Gainesville Fashion Week (GFW) director was beautifully dressed in a RTR gown. All 150 chairs had a RTR goody bag, which included a promo code, RTR sunglasses, Popchips and candies. People of all ages entered the venue, had their pictures taken on the red carpet, and took their seats excited for the night ahead of them.

Fashion Show

The RTR logo hit the screen and the room was filled with applause. We opened strong with Nanette Lapore’s Rustic Plum Lace Dress and followed with the Miami Beach Mini by Cynthia Vincent. Each model posed in the spotlight as she entered the runway and again at the end of the runway as she finished her walk. Cameras constantly flashed, trying to capture the perfect moments of fashion. In total, thirty dresses of varying shapes and colors were showcased. Our show finished by astonishing the viewers with the Nicole Miller’s Keyhole Goddess Gown.

Fashion Show

The following Sunday, UF RTR representatives tabled with all the other designers of GFW. On our table were our trifold inspiration board, promo cards, and RTR goodies. The dresses used in the fashion show and by the directors were hung for all to see. We had an unbelievable amount of attention and complements. Women picked out their favorite dresses and promised to rent for their next big occasion. Many people admitted they were skeptical about the idea of RTR, but were convinced to rent by seeing the dresses and learning more about the website.

Fashion Show

In all, Rent the Runway’s showing at Gainesville Fashion Week was a huge success. Professional pictures of our show are featured on our Facebook page: Rent the Runway at UF. We also had an article about the show published to Her Campus (visit http://www.hercampus.com/school/ufl/rent-runway-kids-shine-gfws-gala-arts). Women of all ages and styles were in awe of Rent the Runway and all it has to offer. The UF RTR representatives are happy to showcase our brand so proudly and hope to make the fashion show bigger and better next year!
