There is only one night a year when celebrities, models, and designers gather in New York City dressed in the most exquisite couture—the MET Ball. The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted its annual Costume Institute Gala again this year with the theme being Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. While some celebrities daringly opted to go all out in costume, others chose a more demure route while still exemplifying the extravagance of couture.
Here are some of my favorite dresses of the night and how you can achieve a similar look with dresses from Rent the Runway.
Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren
Camilla Belle just screams gorgeous in this silver plunging neckline. I loved the intricate details throughout the dress. Get the look with Temperley London’s Rosette Charm Gown.
Carey Mulligan in Prada
Don’t be fooled by the conservative dresses Carey Mulligan tends to go for. This one is lady-like (as always) and totally flashy. Get the look with Mark & James by Badgley Mischka’s Sea of Sequins Shift.
Jessica Alba in Michael Kors
Jessica Alba is so elegant and on-trend in this metallic one-shoulder Michael Kors dress. Get the look with Milly’s Gold Metallica Pleat Gown.

Dark lips were all over the Fall 2012 runways from Gucci to Etro. They were also spotted on the lips of many Hollywood celebrities during the MET Gala. [...]
