Dressing for NYC can be a really fun experience. The reason is because you can basically where anything you want. You can go bright, bold, short, long, and even questionable and chances are you will not be the craziest looking person on the street. So feel free to have a lot of fun with your style while you’re here.
Daytime Look: Between walking many blocks, subway transfers, and all the exploring you’ll want to do, I suggest flats unless you’re a master in heels. The summer in NYC gets pretty hot so shorts are the way to go. These lace shorts are really comfortable but beautiful. Paired with a chambray shirt, it brings the shorts from just sweet to sexy too. Add a really fun necklace to add some bling and an interesting touch.
Dinner Date: With any hope, you’ve met a cute guy during your daytime exploring and you’re going to dinner. Colored lace is really on trend right now and is way more fun than basic black. Remember when you are doing a really bold dress; you want to keep your accessories sort of neutral. I choose a nude heel and clutch. This look reminds me what some of the looks that were all over the Dolce and Gabbana runway in the spring.
Getting Drinks: During the summer, rooftop bars are open all over the city. This is my favorite. Who doesn’t love a cool drink in hand, looking fabulous while staring out over the city? A maxi skirt is perfect for this occasion. A long, silky skirt boasts glamour and class. Pairing the skirt with a tee shirt keeps it causual.
