How to Start Your Day Right

As I’m sure you’ve been told a hundred times, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Your breakfast choice impacts your daily mood, energy level, and food intake for the rest of the day.  Skipping breakfast or eating a sugary, unbalanced meal will leave you feeling less energized and having more unhealthy food cravings all day long.  To start your day the right way, try a breakfast full of nutrients and fiber to fuel your body.

Need some suggestions?

1)    Chobani or Fage yogurt with mixed berries and almonds.  Greek yogurt is both satisfying and healthy to keep you going all day long!

2)    For a protein-rich option, try a veggie omelet and use egg whites for a lower-cholesterol alternative.  One egg contains only 1.5 grams of saturated fat and is loaded with vitamin D.

3)    For your sweet tooth, try cinnamon-raison oatmeal instead of granola.  One cup of granola has about 600 calories and 24 grams of sugar, but oatmeal has only 8 grams of fiber to tie you over until lunch.
