Today in New York City, the weather isn’t exactly blue skies, rainbows, and sunshine. No, in fact, today in the Big Apple, it’s pretty cloudy and grey. But we’re not going to let that dampen our sunny summer spirits! This is where one hot summer trend comes to our rescue.
Say hello to summer brights and neons!
Bring some color to the world around you, even if the world around you is stubbornly grey, like it’s pretending that it doesn’t know that that it’s the middle of June or something, but whatever. We digress.
These bright neon colors fit right into the color block trend that has taken the world of fashion by storm lately. Don’t be afraid to wear loud colors that clash! In fact, clashing is practically the name of the game. You’d be amazed at what you can get away with. If you’re a little hesitant, you can’t go wrong with complementary colors (colors that are across from each other on the color wheel).
If you’re not brave enough to pull off an entire outfit like the one above, that’s okay. You can start out slow. An easy way to get into summer brights and color blocking is to find a cute neon handbag, like these! You can use it with a relatively neutral outfit for a statement piece of color, or just throw it in with a crazy colorful ensemble when you’re ready for it.
