Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is actually one of the best products I’ve ever used. It tames my naturally curly hair. It has become the only product I use when my hair is curly. I also spray it in when my hair is straight and it creates natural look beach waves. Unfortunately, it’s almost thirty dollars. So I searched through pinterest and found out that you can create your own. It took me to http://huzzahvintage.blogspot.com/2010/05/diy-bumble-surf-spray.html which is where I discovered this awesome DIY salt spray. I made it about a week ago and can tell you, it’s almost the exact same.
Recipe:
3 teaspoons Salt (not table but Epson salt and Sea salt are okay)
3 squirts Water-Based Hair Gel
4 ounces Tap Water
Warm about 4 ounces of tap water. Mix in the salt. You want to warm the water because it makes it easier for the salt to dissolve. When the salt has dissolved, mix in 3 squirts of hair gel (about 2 tbsp.). I also added a bit of conditioner because it keeps my hair silky as well.
