I recently took a trip to Cairns, about a 5-hour flight north of Melbourne. Not only is Cairns home to one of the most treasured and unique travel destinations in the world, The Great Barrier Reef, but it also boosts warm, beach temperatures year round. This trip could not come at a better time because now that I’m done with school, the cold, Winter spell that has recently struck Melbourne has made me that much more excited to get home for the last few months of Summer.

One thing I’m going to miss tremendously is the fashion here in Australia. I have spoken very fondly of all of the different styles and trends I have come to adapt and love in my blog posts over the weeks. Now that this is my last post before I head back to the United States, I will leave you with one final fashion-forward statement. Being in Cairns for the week not only geared me up for the warm months at home, but it also sparked fun, trendy style ideas for the Summer. In addition, I stayed in a hostel for the week and met people from all over the world and it is always so cool to see new and exciting fashion choices.

Although maxi dresses aren’t necessarily a new fashion item, they have made a recent comeback if you will. Maxi dresses are ideal for Summer because they are light, simple pieces that can be dressed up or down. There are so many fun dresses out now that incorporate different textures, colors, and detail. Rent The Runway offers a plethora of trendy maxi dresses perfect for all Summer occasions- from a wedding to a beach-side barbeque. I’ve come to the conclusion that a maxi dress is one of this Summer’s must-have items, and here are some of my RTR favorites.
