Stripes are one of my favorite summer trends. You can see me wearing them at the Rent The Runway office on a regular basis. Looking at magazines and blogs, I’m definitely not the only one wearing stripes everywhere I go! Celebrities like Michelle William and Blake Lively have worn parallel lines on the red carpet and beyond. Anyone who says horizontal stripes are a fashion “don’t” obviously didn’t have these lovely ladies in mind.
Michelle William’s striped shift (with pockets!) is a perfect daytime look. I can see myself wearing a similar style to the office, to brunch with friends, or even on a casual date! The only thing I would change about the look is her choice of shoe: a pop of color or even a metallic would make this outfit perfect for a summer day!
Blake Lively stunned in stripes at the premier of Savages. A striped gown is unexpected and fun twist on this trend. I definitely expect to see celebs following Blake’s lead and wearing stripes on the runway, but I’m not sure if anyone can pull the look off as well as Ms. Lively. But take some inspiration, and op for stripes instead of solids or sequins for your next red carpet-worthy event!
