Congratulations 2012 graduates!

I know this congratulations is belated, but it’s not too late to read Commencement by J. Courtney Sullivan.

In this book, Sullivan takes us on a journey of four young girls from their first day of college to their lives four years after college.  Each girl starts out with a different story.  Celia starts off at school wanting to make friends but desperately missing her family and high school pals.  Bree is engaged to her high school sweet heart, and ready to break from the mold of her southern charm.  Sally’s mother has just died, and going to an all girls school is difficult for her, especially when she had no help from her family moving in.  April is all about rebellion and joins nearly every club on campus within the first hour of her arrival.

Though the girls move on and change from their first year identities, they stay close friends throughout most of the book.  Commencement reassured me that the friends I make in college could potentially be my friends for life.
