Last year I attended back-to-back days at Mansfield, MA & Wantagh, NY of a summer tour that inspired me to start blogging about the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) sensation that we all know to be a huge part of today’s culture… and that summer tour was the Identity Festival! I am so happy that I can say that I will be returning this summer to Wantagh as an official press delegate for Rent the Runway!
If you have not already heard about the festival, you should know three important things: affordable, close by, and outRAGEous! People from all around the country, I encourage you to check out the website right now and find a venue closest to your hometown. Then, I want you to get online and scope out the most unique costumes that you can find. This is going to be a party and everyone is invited!
Last year I was fortunate enough to get to see Kaskade, Avicii, Steve Aoki, and many others for just $25 dollars a day. Tickets to these events sold quickly and prices were increased shortly after the initial release. Worried about the prices for this summer’s tour, I was almost hesitant to buying my ticket to Wantagh; however, IDFest knew what the people wanted and they were not caught up in the ticket price craze that many other venues and artists have been found guilty of. They maintained their affordable reputation and will be able to bring thousands and thousands of people closer to the music that we love!
This summer there are some incredibly talented artists that we have seen this year and some new, unfamiliar faces. For those who don’t already know Bingo Players, Nero, Wolfgang Gartner, and Porter Robinson are just some of the few artists taking the stage at this tour. I’m especially looking forward to seeing Eric Prydz for the first time ever! It is quite the treat for him to come to America, since this Swedish DJ typically stays in Europe. If you aren’t familiar with the name, check out Elektro’s article and SoundCloud!
Intrigued yet? Join in on the fun! July tour dates listed below:
As you can imagine everyone who attended last year’s Wantagh show is just craving some more EDM! With that being said, remember all of tips and safety precautions to take before attending a sold-out show. Above all else, remember the buddy system and have a meeting spot with your other friends!

This event is rain or shine and everyone who was at Wantagh last year knows that we can still party in the rain (minus Steve Aoki – flooded stages are unsafe!). So if you have been waiting to don your newest Nastygal.com outfit, then this is the place to do so! Crop tops, studded shorts, and everything in between is welcomed here. Check out my friend Dayna rocking a cage back crop top and white heart-shaped glasses! But remember, if you are planning on arriving when doors open that you should wear sunscreen to protect your skin in addition to funky tan lines.
The IDFest team has also created an app to make your festival experience even more enjoyable! Download HERE for iPhone and HERE for Android. It will keep you up to date with the latest and greatest news involving Identity as well as allow you to upload your Instagram pictures to the application. Anddddd on the day of the event you can even check out the set times when you are at the show! How cool!?
Be sure to check in from time to time with RTR and I will be sure to bring you the scoop about ID!
