DON’T let freshman year overwhelm you… Utilize these tips to assure a perfect start to the best four years of your life.
DO certainly miss your family and appreciate their help and support throughout your first year, but DON’T become homesick. Soon enough, school becomes your home away from home!
DO text your mom everyday. She wants to know the 411 so keep her in the loop that is your hectic college life.
DO stock up on new outfits but DON’T spend all of your money on endless school apparel, Fro-Yo, and things you don’t NEED! – Classic mistake that will haunt you when Daddy gets the credit card bill…`
DO make as many friends as possible… It certainly enhances your freshman experience… but DON’T forget about your high school friends – keep them updated on your life, keep a group text or Facebook message!
DO certainly go out and experience the eventful nightlife on campus, but DON’T forget why you’re at college… Hit the books! There’s a time to “YOLO” and there’s a time for hitting up the library with your coffee. Differentiate the two, balance is the key to survival!
DO get a gym membership, you’ve reached that point in your life where you can no longer depend on after school sports to keep you in shape. You’re an adult now, make friends with the treadmill and get to know the elliptical… DON’T eat junk food all the time. An occasional late night Mcdouble and fries is all fine and fun, but do not make it a habit. Eat your fruits and veggies! #FRESHMAN15!
DO go to class! Your parents work hard to make everything possible, you must push yourself out of bed on a rainy Monday morning for Bio class. DON’T pull all nighters! You’re better off studying all day and getting a good night’s sleep. There’s always room for a nice college dorm nap too! (which, by the way, are glorious)
DON’T cram!!! Studies show that when you spread out your studying over a span of days, your performance is better. DO prepare in advance – AVOID STRESS.
