Fashion designers care more about textures, colors, and silhouettes. You Can Free Us, an international NGO, in collaboration with The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) organized a unique runway show at Wills Fashion Week. Thirteen fashion designers came together to raise awareness and join forces against human trafficking.

Fashion photographer, Subi Samuel photographed Alice, a victim rescued from a life of prostitution.  She wore clothing by designers such as:

Ashima Leena (insert pic “Ashima Leena”) from India Vogue

Tarun Tahiliani (insert pic “Tarun Tahiliani”) from India Vogue

And Suneet Varma (insert pic “Suneet Varma) from India Vogue

A quote by fashion designer, Lecoanet Hemant, “Human trafficking needs to be treated directly which will only happen when people accept the cause. If it is ‘chi-chi-d’ off it will get nowhere and probably get enhanced.  We tried to imagine, for a few minutes how we could make this young girl forget the daily horrors of her life by following the theme and making her beautiful.”
