The Olympic’s are now in full swing and I don’t know about you, but I am loving every minute of it! From seeing some amazing teamwork with our dynamic beach volleyball duo to the (gorgeous) men that beat all the swimming records, I am having a hard time getting off the couch and away from the TV. What I have loved the most though, is seeing how confident our athletes are, without being cocky! They have inspired me to act like them everyday! Here are the tips I have picked up:
1) Know that the future is in YOUR hands, not your competition.
For whatever you are doing, like going to an interview or trying to impress your boss, do not think about it as a competition with others, but that it is all in your hands. Prepare to be your best and you will be. If you try to prepare by thinking about others, you will only get distracted.
2) Don’t listen to what others are saying.
The Olympians are under huge scrutiny and are becoming huge tabloid stories, all during the most important time in their life! The best way to deal with it? Just block out the negative and focus on the positive. It really doesn’t matter what others think as long as you are performing your best.
3) Do what you love.
Clearly, these athletes love what they do. They train so often, they have too! So lesson to learn, love what you do and you won’t mind working hard every single day.
Next time you watch on of the relays or matches, make sure you watch the quick little interview of the winners afterward. They have become my favorite moments because the athletes are so confident and humble. Take notes and live like they do!
