Summer is a great excuse to never do your hair. I know this is a hair blog and I keep giving you reasons to not style your hair (check out my last blog here http://www.rtroncampus.com/2012/07/03/1-secret-to-healthy-hair-shh/ ) but trust me, it will be worth it in the long run! I promise! Every summer I vow to let my hair go completely natural for 30 days straight. It gives my hair a chance to “breathe” if you will. Usually with the humidity this time of year my hair never stays the way I want it to anyways, so I figure just work with it! I would rather spend more time at the pool and less time in front of the mirror! Want to take the “No Heat Challenge” with me?
Sense no hot tools are allowed take this time to try out new products! It’s a great way to test out if a product really works because it has to do all the work for you with no help from a blow dryer. I love trying new curling creams and salt sprays! My newest favorite is the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray!
Take this month to try out new no heat styles or fun summer updos! I love searching the web for ideas on how to curl my hair without heat! Experimenting is easier in the summer when I don’t have to worry about going anywhere the next day! I also love trying new braids and buns! I’ve been loving a messy top knot with a chunky headband or braided bangs with a messy low bun! It looks fresh and relaxed for summer, and takes less then 10 minutes! Or just wear your hair natural, the beachy messy look is in!
If you combine not washing your hair everyday and not using heat tools, your hair is bound to grow faster and become so much healthier this summer. Who wouldn’t want to go back to school in the fall with gorgeous hair? I know I do! Do you vow to stay away from the blow dryer? Come on, you know you want to!
