The bad news is, summer is almost over. The good news is, there are easy ways to successfully carry your summer look into this fall. First of all, definitely keep up the bright colors and dramatic eyes. A red lip and cat eye never go out of style. The bright pink and plum lips that have been popular all summer are also encouraged this coming fall. The trends from the summer will work their way into fall 2012, but that isn’t what we’re all really worried about is it? How in the world are we going to keep our tans? Or worse, we’ve been stuck in an office all summer and never got one to begin with! Never fear, I have recently found a product that will change your lives. Two words for you ladies: Tan Towels.
A few of my close friends have been loyal to this product for years but self-tanner has always given me troubles so I tend to steer clear. After coming across a Tan Towel sale, I thought it was my time to buy. It comes in two shades, Fair to Medium and Medium to Dark. The best my skin does in the sun is give me a generous helping of new freckles each summer, so naturally I went with the Fair to Medium shade. The idea of applying this new form of self tanner loomed over my head for two weeks and then I realized I had a deadline, I was leaving to go back to North Carolina in two days and it was time to fake my bronzed beauty look. I showered and exfoliated, read the directions very carefully, and applied. It was so easy! You just unfold the towel and rub it in a circular motion all over your body and face. Unlike self tanners I had previously used, after I applied the towel it immediately dried and although apprehensive, I put on my clothes after only about two minutes of letting the product sit. The awful self tanner smell barely was noticeable and after about four hours I looked tan! Voila! So simple. I recommend this to every woman, the Tan Towels will not let you down.
Along with self tanner, bronzers are a big part of the transition from summer to fall. As I’ve said in past posts, I am very low maintenance, but I always make sure to brush on some bronzer. It makes me look awake and sun kissed, who wouldn’t apply it? I’ve been extremely loyal to NARS for about five years. I’m totally obsessed, I hate using anything else. My go to shade is Laguna, which any girl on the fairer side will want to use. If you’re darker, I’d recommend Casino. It lasts longer than anything else I’ve used and gives the most natural look. NARS bronzer in Laguna is the biggest makeup staple I own, everyone reading this should go out and buy it!
Another great trend for the transition from summer to fall is the ombre look. I get very blonde every summer and come November it looks like I have the worst roots! I have always refused to pay for highlights or dark dye to cover the blonde because I’ve felt like natural roots should be accepted. I sort of made that up, but why should I have to pay for my old hair color back when the sun changed it for free? This fall I have no worries because now my summer roots will look fashionable, I get the new ombre style for free! Hopefully this is a revelation for some of you readers as well!
If you’re up for a self tanning adventure, you can’t go wrong with the Tan Towels. It’s so easy and you’ll be blown away with the great summer color you can fake. I recommend buying a reliable bronzer to carry your tan through the fall months and my NARS go to won’t disappoint! For other summer to fall transitions I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble.
