Yep, the rumor is true. Welcome week is officially over, and school is back in session. Everyone knows the first week of school is Syllabus Week laid back, so what better way to spend your spare time than going out with your friends? I have the perfect advice that will help you get through your first week of classes while having the time of your life!

1) Walk the Walk and Plan Ahead

It’s important to feel comfortable around your school’s campus, especially if you’re an incoming Freshman. I strongly suggest walking through each of your classes and planning out how long it will take you  to get to each one prior to the first day of school. I promise you that this preparation will help you when you accidentally sleep through your alarm after a long night!

2) Work Hard Play Hard

Everyone likes to have a good time- I mean you’re only in college once (usually)! In order to succeed, it’s crucial to have your priorities in order. School should always come first no matter how fun going out sounds. These first few weeks of school are going to the set the foundation for the rest of your semester. Just remember: It’s easier to keep your grades up throughout the semester than trying to raise them during the last week of class.

3) Keep a Pen Handy

Obviously taking notes is essential to succeed in a class, but writing down your assignments is too! It’s easy to forget what each professor assigned for homework, so I definitely recommend keeping a planner. This will keep you on track with your assignments when your mind is stuck elsewhere.

Good Luck!
