…or maybe you can. Just like many other things in history, fashion also repeats itself from year to year. Whether they become a fad and quickly die (again) or stay a whole season, nothing in fashion leaves for good. Although we cannot predict why, it is a fact that trends always come back around the fashion cycle in time. Maybe we become nostalgic of trends from our past and tend to try to resurrect them. Regardless of the reason, we love to see these trends come back even better than they did before. Here are some ghosts of fashion’s past that we are happy to see back on the runway.
Let’s be honest, who really wants to run around in heels anymore? While heels have always been the staple shoes to wear when you wanna feel confident and powerful, who is to say flat shoes have the same effect? The newest shoe trend to pop up is the slip on sneaker and I believe it’s a shoe that can be as fashionable and as fierce as any heel.
Fashion is one of the best examples of how a cycle works. With Paris, France being the first to exhibit fashion as an art and lifestyle thanks to the power of King Louis XI fashion spread globally around the world. One of my absolute favorite trends has to be the mixing of the feminine and masculine styles. This is nothing new though (be sure to read on!)….
Having been abroad in London now for over two months, I have completely fallen in love with all things European. The food, the people, the culture, even the transportation (the Tube is awesome). There is something so special about London and Europe in general, it has a charm that is completely its own. As much as I love the British accent, I really love British fashion! It is much different than American fashion as it incorporates fashions that typically aren’t seen in the US. For starters, Brits do not wear leggings, they wear tights. As hard as it is to believe, leggings are not a staple in everyday fashion, it is truly an American style. Tights instead are the go to choice as they wear them with everything! Continue reading
